From the desk of Chief Executive Officer, Michael Wayne Allen Sr.

March 16, 2020

Good morning Sylvester Housing Authority Community,

The Sylvester Housing Authority remains committed to proving safe, decent and sanitary housing as a foundation for individuals and families to achieve their full potential. Due to increasing concern surrounding the possible spread of COVID-19 both globally and domestically, we believe it is in the best interest of the vulnerable populations we serve to temporarily close our offices to the public as of Monday March 16, 2020, until further notice. Sylvester Housing Authority has not been notified of any suspected or confirmed case in the Sylvester/Worth community and measures we are taking are preventative.

All community events, inspections, hearing, briefings, and activities have been postponed until we know more about COVID-19. Although our office will be closed, we will continue to accept rental payment and vital documents via email, fax or drop box located outside of our three site offices. To help prevent the spread of germs, we strongly encourage these documents to be submitted electronically.

Sylvester Housing Authority leadership team understands that these changes may present an inconvenience for the public. However, the health and safety of our staff, residents and the community are of the utmost importance to our agency’s mission.

Over the next several weeks, we continue to monitor federal, state and local ordinances surrounding COVID-19 and communicate any needed changes decision appropriately on our Facebook page and our website at shauthority.com

If you have any additional questions or concerns regarding our response to COVID-19, please contact Sylvester Housing Authority Administrate Office at 229-776-7621 option 3 or email me at mallen@shauthority.com

Best regards,

Michael Wayne Allen Sr.
